Title: Using Pear Deck for Asynchronous ESOL Teaching
Date: September 15, 2020 2 pm - 5 pm
Description: For teachers looking to supplement synchronous teaching or for teachers who teach entirely in an asynchronous environment, Pear Deck, which works in tandem with Google Slides, is a wonderful option for creating engaging, interactive lessons that track students’ work. With Pear Deck, you can insert audio, video, and links to text, create closed and open questions and see each students’ individual responses, and more. We’ll focus on how to create well-formed four-skills lessons for asynchronous ESOL teaching. Note: This workshop is a flipped classroom approach.
Note: Participants should have a basic understanding of Google Slides, and will be required to complete one hour of online learning focusing on techniques with Pear Deck and set up their Pear Deck account prior to attending. This will enable us to focus more on applying Pear Deck to ESOL instruction, and less on tech basics.
Facilitator: TBD
Audience: ESOL teachers
To join: A link will be sent to all registrants that will allow them to join the webinar.
Note: If the workshop is sold out, please fill out this google form to be placed on the waiting list.
